Happy Sunday!
Enter random crazy-looking picture of myself just because I think it’s funny:
How is your weekend so far? Mine has been splendid! I spent yesterday working out with a friend and running errands with Kevin. This morning, I am planning on either running 8 miles or going for a bike ride- or maybe both if I am feeling crazy enough- ha! ![]()
I do not work on Saturdays anymore so, for the first time in about ever I have an actual weekend! My weekly work schedule, though? Sure, iit’s going to be pretty crazy. But I am loving every minute of it!
After 2 days on the job at my internship, I think it is safe to say that I absolutely love this job! I haven’t had a chance to talk about what exactly I am doing, so I thought I’d take today to fill you all in on my internship.
~A recap on my internship~

I am working at a Corporate Wellness Gym for the corporate office of a business I probably should not mention, but is a really well known electronics business. ![]()
What is a Corporate Wellness Gym?
It is basically a regular gym that is exclusively for the employees of a business. The employees of the company I am working for pay a small amount each month for access to the gym.
What do the employees have access to at the gym?
Every employee that becomes a member is offered an aerobic assessment; a general body composition test; free participation in group classes like spin, kick boxing, yoga, cross fit, etc; free help with personal training; and access to the gym’s equipment during operating hours.
What do I do at the gym?
As an intern, I essentially fill the 4th trainer spot on staff. The other 3 wellness coaches work full time, while I work part time. (3 days a week) Even though I am an intern, I pretty much get to do everything that the other coaches get to do:
-
I will be teaching group classes
-
If a member comes to workout when I am there, they can come into the office and ask one of us coaches to workout with them and make up a workout for them
-
I create workout programs for new members
-
I help the coaches to create motivational programs to help members come to the gym more and stay healthy
Pretty much to sum things up?
- I get to spend my days coming up with fun programs to get people motivated to be healthy, lift weights with them and teach them how to workout properly, and help anyone with running or doing cardio (a.k.a- I get to run with members and get paid to do so!)
I am so happy to have to opportunity to work at this Corporate Wellness Center- it seriously is so much fun! While I know that I will inevitably find something I do not like about my internship. (like waking up at 4:30AM once or 2x a week
) However, as of now, I am riding on this excitement high and am loving life!
Alrighty, it is time to go run! I am stoked to get a long run in today- I haven’t run past 6 miles since November! Holy goodness, I need to get out on the road!
My Question For You Is…
- Do you work in the corporate setting? Does your company have a gym?
- What was/is your favorite job?
See Ya~ Kay

It is going to be so much fun! I was nervous at first because I have never taught group classes. But, on Friday, one of the trainers had me teach a super short ab class to practice and I had a blast!
You get paid to run with people?? That sounds heavenly
I want to do that too haha

It is heavenly!!
My job has a fitness subsidy where they will pay half of your gym membership, gym equipment, yoga classes, new bike… pretty much whatever. however I do reallly like the idea of having a gym right where I work since it is always hard to come home and do it!
That is so cool! It is awesome when companies really take care of their employees:)
What an amazing job!! You are hooked up girl =)
