Good morning all and Happy Monday!
This morning, I am working early at my internship- at 5:30am!
This is still taking me a few days to get used to waking up before 5 a few days a week. It is not so bad once I get to the gym, however, because I have been observing/ helping lead a morning group class of some kind, like spin or PiYo so I wake up within the first 2 hours. The only thing that I hate is leaving the house when it is still dark outside. Yuck!
So last week, I promised you guys I would share a new recipe I created for a homemade sports drink. Well, one thing led to another and I ended up completely forgetting to share with you guys! I know, I know- shame on me!
So today I finally have some time to share with you all the recipe. Better late then never, right?
Here it is:
- Pour 1/2 cup of Stevia into 1 cup of water
- Microwave combination for 2-3 minutes
- Blend sweetener-water and pineapple chunks in blender on puree
- Pour into 32oz. pitcher and add ice and water until pitcher is filled
- Enjoy drink before, during, or after workout as an electrolyte boost!
I tried drinking this while at the gym last week and loved it. It gave me natural energy electrolytes from the pineapple and stevia that helped me recover faster, and work harder. It was really tasty, too! It helps that pineapple is my more favorite fruit in the whole entire universe! Well- watermelon is a close second, maybe even a tie for first. But watermelon tastes gross this time of year, so yeah.
I hope you all enjoy the drink! It tastes so much better then those sugary sports drinks you buy at the store!
My Question For You Is…
-
Do you drink sports drinks while working out?
-
What is your favorite fruit?
See ya~ Kay

Good luck at your internship today girl! Thanks for sharing this drink recipe. It sounds so refreshing <3

Me tooooo!!! I’m glad you like the recipe!
Cool idea
I’m not a sports drinks lover while working out…most I’ll have is water during a run and then either coconut water or chocolate milk afterwards! My favorite fruit is probably blueberries…or cherries…love them both

I love berries, too! Coconut water- not so much, haha.
But I drink it anyway because I know it is good for me!
