Fashion Friday: My Stitch Fix Experience

Remember how I one of my New Years Resolutions was to be more fashionable? Now, you might have already been asking yourself, “Yeah Kaylie- where is all the fashion?!” About that…

While I have kind of failed the last 6 weeks of attempting to buy any new clothes or try to put together any new outfits, that is all about to change! Awhile back, I read on Tiffany's blog about her experience with a website called Stitch Fix. It is an online personal shopping program that sends you cute clothes to try!

Once I read about Tiffany's awesome experience, I knew I had to try it! I headed over to Stitch Fix's website to sign myself up! The way it works is, you request a membership, fill out a survey of the type of clothes you like, your sizes, and what kind of pieces you want. (tops, skirts, pants, etc) Then, once they have read over your profile, they send you an email to find out when you would like your order.

Yesterday, I got the best Valentine's Day gift for myself that I could have ever thought of! I don't know if that sentence makes sense, but whatever. Moving on. :)

I was sent 5 pieces tops and sweaters to try on and see which ones I liked. While some pieces I knew I would like right away, I received a few tops that I wasn't too sure about at first glance. Here is what I got:

It was so nice to get clothes from stores I had never even heard of before! Also, on each of the tops, Stitch Fix attaches a picture with cute outfit ideas on them! Of course, I had to try all of them on & show you guys because I need your advice.

The first top I tried on looked just too comfortable not to keep! It is simple, yet has a cute little flare that I don't usually look for when shopping. I am pretty sure this one will be a keeper.

It makes me look like I have me some wings, too!

The piece I tried on was a cardigan with a cute little flower on it. Even though it has holes in it, it is actually super warm! I didn't think I would like it, but I could totally see myself wearing this little number to church or to hang out with my girlies. :)
Oh my gosh, I LOVE this top! It was such a “me” shirt, I gotta tell ya! It is simple, cute, beachy, and just girly enough for my kind of taste. I can see myself wearing this shirt with white jeans or even a cute floral skirt!

Haha- I didn't realize this picture makes me look like I am bald. Of course. Anyway, I am so happy they sent me this style of shirt because I have been debating on whether or not to buy one for myself for freaking ever! It also made me want to buy a pint maxi skirt to match. Look at me go, gettin' all fashionable!

The last piece I tried on, I need your help to decided whether or not to keep it. It isn't really my style, but it looks okay on me. I don't know, what do you think?

It has bows on it.. I am not really a bow kind of girl. And I also am covering up the ruffles at the bottom. Again, it is not really my thing. But I don't know, maybe I should keep it and step out of my comfort zone.

All in all, I am so happy I did this! Not only did I receive some super cute clothes but, if I buy all 5 pieces, I get 25% off! Cute, cheap clothes are where it is at!

On a random side note, has anyone been watching Glee lately? I watched it last night for the first time in about 6 weeks and holy cow! Everything is topsy turvy and I didn't even know what was going on! Ugh. That show was so good in the first season and then it just went WAY down hill. :/

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will talk to you soon!

Question.

  • Have you ever tried Stich Fix?
  • Do you watch Glee? Any thoughts on this season?
  • Do you like the bow shirt I got? (Your decision will impact the rest of my life… just kidding ;) )

see ya~kay
